Big show weekend in Helsinki -
Nordic Winner '05 & Finnish Winner '05

So wonderful and exciting weekend!

Elisabet with Tindra & Unique and Tomas Miralles (Hinschka's kennel, Unique's breeder from France) came from Sweden to stay at our place. Lovely to meet after a long time! And as this is a weekend of two big shows, also many other friends were here for the show. It was lovely to meet you, Jay, and also to have Katri and Nebo visiting us :-)

Helsinki Finnish Winner ´05

This was the biggest one day all breed dog show in the world ever with 7800 dogs entered!

Vito showed very nicely and became EX2 and finally BM-2 with res-CACIB > CACIB!!! We are so very happy of our precious borzoiboy :-)

Tomas handled Unique excellently, she won her class and got CAC! Big congratulations to Elisabet and Tomas!!!

Nordic Winner ´05

Vito enjoyed it in the ring, but this time got only EX in his class.

I had a pleasure to show Johanna & Pertti Hellgren's Russian import female Amagamma Molnija "Moli". Moli showed like a dream (like always), won open class with EX1, kept the same style in best female ring and became BF-1 with CACIB and CAC - and finally became BOS.
This was such a marvellous win to Moli as she became now Finnish Champion, got Nordic Winner ´05 -title and got qualified for Crufts ´06!!! Big congratulations to Johanna & Pertti - and thank you for trusting me to show your gorgeous Moli!

Handling course with Gerard O'Shea

Vito's breeder Elisabet strongly recommended me this handling course and I got lucky to fit Vito and myself to the nearly fully booked course. The course was a three evening course held during the week in Porvoo, 4 hours of practising each day.

And what a course it was! After handling dogs 20 years, I can truly admit, that I feel like I have known nothing about dog handling before this!!!

This course was just excellent! I learnt SO many new things and Gerard's methods of training dogs for shows are just amazing!

We had a great time, met some friends there and Gerard is a wonderful teacher. Now I just have to make myself think differently and try to keep everything I have learnt in my mind.

Thank you so much for this wonderful course!

Vitokids hit the ring with a bang

Time really seems to fly as now the Vito & Helmi puppies are already old enough to enter the rings in puppy class.

Very crowded place and very slippery floor, but the pups enjoyed their time
- and with great results:
Malinka BB-1 and BOB, Morgenstern BM-1 and BOS! Huge congratulations Elina & Malinka and Kata & Junnu!

And that was not all! Malinka thought that showing really is fun and hit the Group ring with a bang : AND BECAME GROUP-1!!!

We are so happy and proud of these promising Vitokids :-)

Puppymeeting at our summer place

We arranged a puppymeeting for the Helmi & Vito -litter at our summer place in Sipoo. The weather wasn't really the best possible, but raining or not, we had a lot of fun!

The pups loved being together again and playin and running around in the garden and huge forest. It was very nice to meet some of you puppy owners for the first time :-)

Thank you Elina (the breeder, with Malinka & Molotov), Eija (with Marusja), Riikka & family (with Mjuschka), Kata (with Morgenstern), Katri (with Mogilnikov) and Kati & Hannu (with Marvin) for coming and making the puppymeeting such a wonderful get-together weekend!

It was also lovely to have Anu with borzoi Lumi and greyhound Ani visiting us :-)

My parents, Vito and I had an early morning weak up and we drove to Kotka.
Nice to go to the dog shows with my parents, it's like a 20 years old tradition already.

Vito was EX2 in champion males and BM-2 with res-CACIB > CACIB!

Lovely weather, only half an hour drive to the show and nice company, Stella and my mum. Vito showed nicely and won his class, became BM-1 and BOB!

Vito, my mother, Stella and I drove to Kouvola in a pouring rain. Somehow luckily we got a parking space just 10 meters away from our ring. So, no wet dogs, no wet babies, everybody happy then!

Vito became EX2 in champion class and BM-3.

It was so wonderful to meet many friends again - and big congratulations to Johanna & Pertti for their lovely Moli's second CAC!!!

Visiting Helmi and the puppies

We went to visit Elina, Helmi and the puppies to Sumiainen, which is in Middle Finland. All of the ten puppies are SO wonderful, very healthy, active and funny. Helmi is such a relaxed mom, just smiling all the time :-)

Vito became a father - 10 puppies born!

Vito became a father first time as his lovely wife, "Helmi" krikorova Businka Alabama, delivered 10 beautiful and healthy puppies to the world today! The litter is 5 males and 5 females, colours from white to red-white and red-brindle with white.

Bis kisses to wonderful Helmi and the puppies! And congratulations for your M-litter, breeder Elina Siistonen!

Very early in the morning I started driving up to Leppävirta. This time my mother and our Stella-baby were coming with us to the show.

The show was on a sandy sports ground, which turned out to be such an intresting place on a very hard wind - like being in the middle of a sand storm.

Vito became EX3 in his class and kept his eyes closed most of the time in the ring :-)

I was on a working trip, so thistime my father handled Vito. And what a lovely result they got - Vito became EX2 in champion class and BM-3 with res-CACIB > CACIB!!!! Thank you so much for handling help!!!

Estonian Winner ´05 show

We packed our car in the morning and the whole family took a little weekend trip to Tallinn. What a lovely weather we had, very nice hotel, some good shopping and nice dinner in a Japanese restaurant. Dog shows are very nice hobby with all the extra side effects :-)

Borzois were judged on Sunday. Vito was showing nicely. He became third in champion males and BM-4.

Elina Siistonen had contacted me weeks before about if Vito could become a father to her lovely white-beige Krikorova ABusinka Alabama "Helmi"'s litter. Helmi has a nice Finnish/ Scandinavian pedigree and I find this combination very intresting.

So, when the time was right Elina came to visit Vito with her lovely, all the time smiling Helmi. Everthing went very well with Helmi and Vito, and now we just hope to be able to welcome some puppies to the world around midsummer :-)

Vito and I decided to have our daily walk in the huge forests surrounding our summer place. It's so fresh and beautiful now when the nature starts to recover from the winter and everything starts to grow again.
I was lucky to get some nice photos of Vito in the garden of our summer house, you can find the pics in the Gallery.

Vito's eyes were checked and they are OK - not showing symptoms of PRA, HC or RD. Also Vito's thyroid level is checked and normal.

Vito became # 2 Show Borzoi male in Finnish Borzoi Club's TOP Show Borzoi list 2004! This is his second year on a row as # 2 Show Borzoi male in Finland!
