Merry Christmas to everyone!

Every Christmas Eve we have a tradition to go to Porvoo Old Town square to listen to the declaration of Christmas peace and a Christmas concert. My father is conducting that concert, so this has been a yearly tradition all my life. Every year we also take one or two dogs with us, this year it was Don's & Nera's turn. We didn't have any snow this year, but the athmosphere in the Old Town is very special, no matter if there's snow or not.

Lynx Lost In Love "Angela", Vitodaughter from his third litter, had a great success in Borzoi Speciality show, held by Japan Kennel Club at Yokohama.

Angela, competing from junior class, became Winners Bitch (number 1 bitch out of 20 non-champions) and then selected 2nd Best Bitch over 25 bitches! She also got Award of Merit and M-CAC!

BIG congratulations to Etsuko & family and lovely Angela!

Helsinki Finnish Winner ´07 Show

I love the athmosphere of the big shows! And what a great opportunity to meet dog friends from all over the world! It was so nice to have you here Elisabet (the breeder of Vito and Wiima from Sweden) and Etsuko (the owner of Vito's daughter Lynx Lost In Love from Japan)!

Both Don and Vito were entered, but unfortunately I couldn't show Vito as he had hurt his leg in rough playing two days ago and was now limping a bit. Don was happy and super social as usual and he showed wonderfully! He became VG2 in junior males.

The lovely "Love" litter of kennel Lynx (Sweden) is now 1 year old today! Vito sends big kisses to his wife, Tindra, and a "Love"kid Wiima to her mother and littermates :-)

Both Lynx Forbidden Love "Nina" and Lynx Love In A Mist of Albaneiler "Misty" made their show debuts in their new home country, England.

Nina became 1st in LB class and Misty 2nd in LB class. Both girls are now qualified for Crufts 2008!

Big congratulations to the owners, Mr Don Foran (Nina) and Mrs Lorraine Harvey (Misty)!

Second part of our advanced course. Don is learning very quickly, I'm not sure if I am ;-) Now the pace is faster and more techniques of showing are used. Very good course once again! Thank you, Gerard!

Sergej started his lure coursing career this autumn and after only four competitions he became Number 1 Best Male and BOS Newcomer in Finnish Borzoi Club's TOP Lure Coursing Borzoi 2007 list!!!
Way to go boy! And huge congratulations to his owner Katri!!!

Helsinki Puppy Show

Nera made her debut in the show rings! The show was only 30 minutes from our home, so no tireding car trip for Nera before her first show. Nera was 1st with cq in 5-7 months old puppy class and ended up BB-2 after a lovely German import puppy girl. Nera was showing very nicely, but the floor was very slippery, so I decided it was better run too slowly than fall over. Nera's critique was excellent and we had such a lovely time there!

Such a nice winter weekend! This was Don's first officiall show and he became EX3 in Junior class. Don really enjoyed showing and we both enjoyed meeting our old and new friends :-)

I also showed Sergej, another Vitoson, from Vito's first litter. Sergej won open class males and after hard competition became BM-2 with res-CACIB > CACIB and CAC, which made him a new FINNISH CHAMPION in age 2 years and 5 months! Now Sergej is Fin Ch EuJW´06 FinJW´06 Mogilnikov. Big congratulations to his owner, Katri!

Wiima to my co-ownership

I was lucky to become a co-owner for a lovely Vito daughter from his third litter (born 14.12.2006). This lovely little lady is a Swedish import  Lynx Madly In Love "Wiima". She is living with two borzois and her co-owner, Anu Kivinen & family in Helsinki.

On a ring training course again.

Once we got out of the car on the first day, Don was almost flying to the riding hall, where we trained the last time on June! I think that's a pretty good sign that he liked it there :-)

This is a two part course for people who has trained with Gerard before.

The course was excellent again! Now we got some homework to do for the second part, starting 30th of November.

Tarijemiran D-litter 1 year old birthday! Time flies, the cute little puppies are big now - but still very cute, of course.

Our hot headed hunter boy Don and I headed to Hyvinkaa for Don's first competition after a "fake" hare. Don was jumping up on his rear legs, howling, dancing around and trying to escape from me when he was watching the other dogs running. Don was competing in 12-18 months class (even though he wasn't 12 months yet). In this competition the dogs only have one run, not 2 like in an officiall competition. Don run clearly, followed the lure intensively and "killed" it in the end. What a beautiful run our puppy boy made! Don became 2nd in his class with great points 258!

Marvin - new Finnish Champion!

Marvin ("Nemo") hit the ring in open class males with EX1 and continued his successful ways in Best Male ring becoming BM-3 with CAC. That made him a new FINNISH CHAMPION! Big congratulations to Nemo's owners Kati & Hannu!

A trip to Czech Republic

On our way back from the summer vacation we headed to Czech Republic and visited a prestigious borzoi kennel Majove Bohemia. A very intresting litter had caught my eye in May and I had made a reservation for a black female puppy right away. The breeder, Marie Vesela, had sent me maybe hundred pictures of our special puppy girl, but now it was the first time to see her live! Little "Nera" charmed us all right away and she looked even more gorgeous thanwhat I was imaging her to look! So, then began Nera's long car-ferry trip to her new home. Thank you SO MUCH, Marie, for letting us have our gorgeous puppy girl! Nera really is one of a kind, as she is the only female borzoi in the world with this marvellous pedigree!

It was also so wonderful to meet Nera's half brother, self black and gorgeous Int & Multi Ch Daimon Majove Bohemia.

Vito's first litter, the M -litter, is 2 years old today! Happy birthday to all the ten kids :-)

Finnish Borzoi Club Speciality show

Hot day with a clear blue sky. What a lovely day to meet friends, but quite a hot day for the dogs to give their best in the ring. This is FBC's main happening in the year and this time was 132 borzois entered to the show, seven Vitokids among them.

 

I was showing Sergej (EuJW´06 FinJW´06 Mogilnikov) in intermediate males. In this class the judge gave excellents for only two dogs - both were Vito's sons, Sergej and Marvin! After a tough competition the judge decided Sergej as EX1 and Marvin became EX2.

In intermediate females a Vito's daughter, Mazurka, won her class too with EX1!

Mazurka and Sergej were competing against each other for BIS intermediate class dog and Mazurka became BIS and Sergej BOS! Big congratulations to the owners Marketta and Katri! Both of the kids also got res-CAC.

Then it was time for Don to make his debut in the showrings! He was happy and full of energy and became 1st in his class (7-9- months old male puppies) with cq.

Vito's daughter from his latest litter, Lynx Madly In Love "Wiima", became 1st in her class (5-7 months old females) with cq.

Wiima also showed her best in BIS Puppy competition and became BB-1 and BIS-2. Don became BIS-4 Puppy!

Vito's second wife, Tarijemiran Baranja "Ronja", also had a progeny class which represented four Ronja & Vito kids: Tarijemiran DaVinci, Dhingis Khan, Dragon and our Don Corleone. Ronja and her puppies became BIS-4 progeny goup.

Show training with Gerard O'Shea

Back to the Gerard O'Shea ring training course after a 1,5 years break, this time with Don. I was on Gerard's course in December 2005 with Vito, and it turned around my whole thinking of dog handling. Vito became TOP #1 Show Borzoi male in 2006 - and loved showing, so I couldn't be happier and more convinced that Gerard's methods really works! It's all about me, if I can change my way of thinking permanently and continue training :-)

I learnt so much again, I guess even more than on the previous course, as the methods of training were a bit more familiar to me already. We had so much fun again and we met very nice people and dogs. Don simply loved it there :-)

Vitokids in Puppy show

Some of Tarijemiran D -litter puppies hit the ring the first time competing in small puppy class, 5-7 months old. Also Wiima, Lynx Madly In Love, Vito & Tindra pup born in Sweden was here.

All the kids were showing nicely :-)

Tarijemiran Dragon, "Usva",  became BM-1 Puppy and also BOB Puppy!!!
This was not all - Usva also ended up as GROUP-3 Puppy!

Vito's son, EuJW´06 FinJW´06 Mogilnikov "Sergej" was entered to the show and I headed to Lahti show him. Showing Sergej is always such a pleasure as he is a magnificent boy and his owner Katri is such a fun company :-) Borzois' entry was 16+13.

Sergej won his class with EX1 and in Best Male competition he became BM-2 with res-CACIB and CAC! What a lovely result! Congratulations for Sergej's second CAC, Katri!

Vito became # 1 Show Borzoi Male and BOS Show Borzoi in Finnish Borzoi Club's TOP Show Borzoi list 2006!
We are so very happy about our precious boy!!! Vito has been # 2 Show Borzoi Male in 2004 & 2005 and this is such a nice continuing for his career.

Thank you everyone who has supported us and helped us to achieve this - family, friends, the judges, the breeder Elisabet Jonsson and also Gerard O'Shea, who has taught me more of show handling in 3 days than what I had learnt in 20 years!
