Sergej was my first borzoi. He
moved to our family in September 1984 when I was 10 years old.
Sergej was my best friend and we grew up together.
Sergej was a very strong and self-confident character. He acted
like he owned the whole world and all the other creatures here
were just his poor servants.
In 1985 I decided to enter
him to his first show and so
it all began. Sergej gained his Fin Ch title very easily and show after
a show our
team work became more and more fluent. He started to win BOBs and get Group placements.

In1989 Sergej
became BEST IN SHOW in the biggest all breed dog show in Finland
that time, over 3100 dogs entered!
During one year he gained 4 x GROUP-1, BIS-1, BIS-2,
2 x BIS-4!

For our great joy -
and also for a great surprise
-
Sergej became one of the most
successful borzois in his time in Finland and stayed in TOP 5
Show Borzoi list for five years on a row. Still in veteran class
he continued his winning ways and was 2 x BIS-1 Veteran and 2 x
BIS-4 veteran in all breed shows.
Sergej was always owner-handled.
Sergej became father of Hatsina C -litter in April, 1988. That
was a litter on 3 males and one female. The mother was Fin Ch
Colhugh Cinatasha, a gorgeous, extremely well moving
import from Reg Bassett's wordlfamous Colhugh kennel, GB. I had
adored English type of borzois and this was a dream combination
for me. My pick from the litter was white-red male puppy,
Hatsina Czardas Czar, who moved to our family.

Sergej graced our lifes 10 wonderful years and made me fall in
love with this gorgeous breed.
